Aims
The aim of the Quantity Surveying Fundamentals course is to provide delegates with a core foundation knowledge and understanding of Quantity Surveying techniques and issues relating to best practice including cost and contract management.

Quantity Surveying Fundamentals is most suitable for those in the construction industry who wish to learn about quantity surveying principles. The course is also relevant to professionals who are interested in moving in to the quantity surveying field. It is relevant for both UK and internationally based students.

You will be able to check your progress through the course with self-assessment questions and case studies. Your final assessment is an online quiz with multiple choice questions. If you fail to meet the minimum score on your first attempt will have the opportunity to re-sit the online examination.

Course Structure and Time Committment
Delivered online with tutor support and online forums. The online delivery method will allow you to study wherever you may be. Working at a time and place that suits your needs.
Using a combination of audio and visual learning methods the course is designed to take a complex subject and present this in an easy-to-understand format.
A flexible schedule allows for breaks in study.
- This course is designed to run over 24 weeks (6 months) based on estimate 5-6 study hours per week, and includes
• a study break week approximately half-way through the course structure
• a week for revision
• a 4- week window in which you choose when to undertake the final quiz.This gives delegates 30 weeks to complete 24-week course, which you can use either to stop & re-start your studies, or join the course up to 6 weeks late.
A Personal Certificate
At the end of the study period there is an online quiz which will assess your learning.
On successful completion of the course and quiz you will receive a University of the Built Environment certificate of completion of “Quantity Surveying Fundamentals” .
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for the Quantity Surveying Fundamentals course; but participants find they get more out of the course if they are already involved in the industry in some way.

Cancellation policy
Online Academy recognises that a change in circumstances can sometimes be unavoidable and that delegates who register for a scheduled event may need to withdraw or change their original registration.
If you are unable to attend this scheduled CPD course you are booked on, you may request to substitute another person to attend in your place provided you notify us in writing at academy@ube.ac.uk at least five working days before the event.
Refunds are calculated as follows upon receipt of the written request to academy@ube.ac.uk
More than 28 days before the course start date: Online Academy will retain 20% of the fees due.
· 28-14 days before the course start date: Online Academy will retain 50% of the fees due.
· Less than 14 days before the start date: Online Academy will retain 100% of the fees due.
In the unlikely event of Online Academy withdrawing a course, all course fees paid will be refunded, however Online Academy will not be liable for any other costs or losses incurred.
