Land Valuation: Case Study on Lease Modification & Re-Zoning – 29 May & 10 July

Overview

This event is made up of two consecutive CPD sessions.

At the first session (29 May 2021) Dr TC Wong will present a seminar on Land Valuation and introduce you to the Hong Kong based case study scenario. In preparation for the second session, participants will be encouraged to work on the case study scenario and present the findings/solution at the second workshop. Delegates will be able to submit their proposed solutions for feedback and review. To fully benefit for this course delegates are strongly advised to attend both sessions and complete the workshop exercise.

Itinerary Details

The case study presentation will cover key areas related to land valuation, techniques and local practices such as:
· Introduction of Valuation Principles and Valuation Methodology
· Optimal Development – Revision on Development Controls
· Residual Valuation – Model and Parameters
· Examples and Common Issues

These workshops are particularly suitable for those who are:

  • studying for or going to sit the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) held by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Probationer Members in the General Practice Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) who wish to prepare for their APC
  • currently enrolled on BSc, MSc or MBA courses who are working towards a career as a professional estate surveyor.
  • experienced professionals who wish to refresh their knowledge and satisfy their annual CPD requirements.

Sr Dr TC Wong PhD, MRICS, MHKIS, BSc

Sr Dr TC Wong attained his professional qualification as a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2006. During 2005 to 2020, Dr Wong joined CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield respectively focusing on valuation and advisory services in Hong Kong. His valuation experience covers a wide spectrum of properties from general residential, office, retail, industrial developments, to development and agricultural land. And for various purposes including mortgage/financing, financial reporting, rating assessment, rent review, statutory compensation, and litigation. Examples of properties & projects Dr Wong has been involved in project assignments include: International Finance Centre (IFC), Hopewell Centre, FT Life Tower, Discovery Park Shopping Centre, and Citibank Plaza.

Dr Wong has also served as an assessor in the Assessment of Professional Competence for both the HKIS and the RICS. He is a part-time lecturer on planning and development subjects for the MSc Real Estate program of the University of Hong Kong.

Cancellation policy

If you are unable to attend this scheduled CPD course you are booked on, you may request to substitute another person to attend in your place provided you notify us in writing at academy@ucem.ac.uk at least five working days before the event.

Refunds are calculated as follows upon receipt of the written request to academy@ucem.ac.uk

·         More than 28 days before the course start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 20% of the fees due.

·         28-14 days before the course start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 50% of the fees due.
