This workshop is most suitable for students and those recently graduated who want to prepare for the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) for either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS).

 In this special workshop for UCEM; Sr  Professor Gary MK Yeung , FRICS,FHKIS ,RICS LAT,  will discuss and provide insight into the APC process requirements for Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS).

Sr Professor Gary Yeung obtained his BSc(Hons) Degree and MBA from the University of Reading (College of Estate Management), and LLB from the University of London. He qualified as a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

He has more than 40 years’ experience in real estate management, working in organizations including the HKSAR Government, developer, project consultancy practice and property management companies. He retired as the General Manager of Shui On Properties Management Limited and currently offering part-time teaching and training for university and the two surveying institutes. He has been the Licensed Assessor Trainer of RICS for more than 10 years.

He also makes use of his leisure to serve the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors on a voluntary basis for more than 20 years initially in the Building Surveying Division, and thereafter in the Property and Facility Management Division, Board of Membership and General Council. He was the Past Chairman of the Property and Facility Management Division (2009-2011), Past Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and Surveyors Registration Board. He also serves the Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management and was elected as the President 2021/2022.

He had participated in several legislative consultations essentially the amendment of Building Management Ordinance (Cap 344), Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS) and the Property Management Services Ordinance (Cap 626).

Cancellation policy

UCEM Online Academy recognises that a change in circumstances can sometimes be unavoidable and that delegates who register for a scheduled event may need to withdraw or change their original registration.

If you are unable to attend this scheduled CPD course you are booked on, you may request to substitute another person to attend in your place provided you notify us in writing at academy@ucem.ac.uk at least five working days before the event.

Refunds are calculated as follows upon receipt of the written request to academy@ucem.ac.uk

·         More than 28 days before the course start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 20% of the fees due.

·         28-14 days before the course start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 50% of the fees due.

·         Less than 14 days before the start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 100% of the fees due.

In the unlikely event of UCEM Online Academy withdrawing a course, all course fees paid will be refunded, however UCEM Online Academy will not be liable for any other costs or losses incurred.
