A brief Introduction to Historic Building Conservation(Hong Kong)
This professional competence face to face seminar is particularly suitable for trainee building and estate surveyors who want to deepen their knowledge in building maintenance and conservation. Especially the related practical notes in building ordinance. The aim is to further to enhance participants’ knowledge in issues surrounding the conservation of historic buildings in Hong Kong.
Speaker
LAM Sair Ling, Faustus HKIA CIOH HKICON
Mr Lam Sair Ling, Faustus, is an experienced registered architect. He is currently Head of Property of Caritas Hong Kong. Previously Senior Maintenance Surveyor in the Heritage Unit of the Architectural Services Department before his retirement from the Government. During his working life, Mr Lam has devoted himself to antiquities and monumental rehabilitation, restoration, and conservation participating in various projects. He is one of the few conservation specialists in Hong Kong with experience in several projects on built heritage including the restoration of Tai Fu Tai, Kun Ting Study Hall, and King Law Ka Shuk. Some of which had been awarded the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation. Previously an adjunct Associate Professor of the Division of Architectural Conservation Programmes in The University of Hong Kong. He was also a jury panel member of the Building Surveyor Awards 2018 and 2023.

Cancellation policy
UCEM Online Academy recognises that a change in circumstances can sometimes be unavoidable and that delegates who register for a scheduled event may need to withdraw or change their original registration.
If you are unable to attend this scheduled CPD course you are booked on, you may request to substitute another person to attend in your place provided you notify us in writing at academy@ucem.ac.uk at least five working days before the event.
Refunds are calculated as follows upon receipt of the written request to academy@ucem.ac.uk
· More than 28 days before the course start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 20% of the fees due.
· 28-14 days before the course start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 50% of the fees due.
· Less than 14 days before the start date: UCEM Online Academy will retain 100% of the fees due.
In the unlikely event of UCEM Online Academy withdrawing a course, all course fees paid will be refunded, however UCEM Online Academy will not be liable for any other costs or losses incurred.
